Mrs. Shubhangi Sakhalkar had an early early tutelage with Smt. Kunda Vaishampayan. She spent several years learning from acclaimed artists Dr. Prabha Atre and Smt. Padma Talwalkar. In addition Shubhangi has brought her own ardent music practice and creative imagination to develop a vibrant yet thoughtful vocal style that remains rooted in tradition while being uniquely her own.
Mrs. Sakhalkar is accompanied by Rohan Joshi on harmonium and Rahul Joshi on tabla. Rohan has been learning Harmonium for the last 11 years from Guru Vivek Datar, disciple of Sri Vinayakrao Kale of the Gwalior Gharana. Rohan has captivated his audience with his imaginative and soulful playing on numerous occasions. He is one of the most promising artists from the younger generation in the San Francisco Bay Area. Rahul Joshi is an incoming fourth-year undergraduate at the UC Berkeley. He is majoring in Molecular and Cell Biology and wants to be a doctor. He has learned tabla for 15 years. He began learning under the guidance of Shri Ravi Gutala. He also began studying under Padmashri Pandit Swapan Chaudhuri. Rahul has numerous first place prizes in several local Bay Area music competitions for Tabla. He has performed at the San Francisco World Music Festival, the Ali Akbar College of Music, and at the first annual Ustad Amir Khan Music Festival in 2018.
